custom coatings
Custom designs need not be more expensive than standard coatings. In many cases a simple modification to a standard coating design can greatly enhance performance on your specific application at little or no additional cost. Sometimes, however, novel applications require new and innovative coating designs to meet the task. Penn Optical Coatings has more than 30 years’ experience in designing and engineering new coatings. We use both production friendly thin film software TF-Calc and the powerhouse solution finder Optilayer, however, our greatest resource is our experience and ability to combine a wide variety of design and process options to find the optimum result for your application. specialty coatings
Specialty coatings are those coatings that, in addition to requiring some customization, may also require the introduction of novel concepts in the design, engineering or process control stages to achieve the desired performance. Specialty coatings come in all shapes and sizes – literally – from micro-optics of 1mm to windows and mirrors larger than 1meter. Penn Optical Coatings has the experience and process knowledge to engineer and manufacture a broad range of specialty coatings. Low temperature coatings for plastics or stress control – we can do that. Need an optical coating with electrically conductive properties – we do that too. |
