  • The API Technologies Dual S-Band 100W Tx/Rx Module is designed to operate in active Phased Array Radar systems.

  • It utilises a 40V supply to drive the 100W LDMOS amplifier, which operates in class AB, with local storage capacitance to supply the peak currents for 100us pulse lengths at duty cycles up to 20%.

  • A circulator provides the duplexer function with a T/R switch to protect the receiver from reflected power.

  • The 6 BIT phase shifter and Attenuator are positioned in the common arm so are available in transmit and receive. They are controlled with parallel TTL logic derived from a FPGA that is driven by a 3-wire serial data stream.

  • The X-Band 7-Bit TRM is an environmentally sealed module featuring full capability for phased array applications.

  • AESA requirements vary by application. The API Technologies TRM demonstrator shows our core design and manufacturing concepts which can then be tailored to the final application.

  • The TRM demonstrator is supplied with:

    • GUI control software

    • Control & PSU Conditioning interface box

    • PC to Control Box interface (LABJACK)

    • TR Module in coax housing

  • We have developed an approach that supports a LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) for AESA platforms which allows for a 'common module' building approach for ease of system integration, first line repair and reduced cost of ownership.

  • We have chosen a QTRM (Quad Transmit Receive Module) as the 'common module' that can be integrated into a Plank to form a sub-array.

  • The QTRM is factory calibrated and has the facility for the system integrator to up load 'Array' offsets to support aperture tapering etc.

  • We also have a range of 'cooling solutions' to support different platform applications that can either be implemented at QTRM level or at Plank level.

  • A QTRM includes full RF, dc, control functionality (logic interface), calibration and BITE status for each TRM, thermal, current overload, receive and transmit detectors.
